The devices we stock and how they differ

Falcon supplies access control hardware from established brands including ZKTeco, across models that vary in capacity and credential type. In practice the difference between models comes down to four questions worth asking before you buy: how many fingerprints or cards it holds, how fast it reads, whether it connects over the network or only exports to a USB stick, and whether it doubles as a time-attendance terminal.

Ready packages by door count

• Single door (office or clinic): standalone fingerprint-and-card unit + 280 lb magnetic lock + battery-backed power supply + exit button + emergency break-glass.
• Metal door or gate: the same reader with a drop bolt instead of a magnetic lock, because a heavy door needs a stronger hold.
• Multiple doors across a site: central controller + readers on each door + management software giving one report for the whole building and letting you revoke an employee across every door at once.
• Server room or vault: reader + a fail-secure lock that stays locked through a power cut — the exact opposite of what an emergency exit requires.

The lock is half the project

The reader reads, but what actually holds the door is the lock. Magnetic locks at 280 or 600 lbs suit glass and wooden doors; drop bolts suit metal doors and gates. More important than the type is behaviour on power loss: emergency exits must be fail-safe and release automatically, while stores and vaults take fail-secure and stay shut.

Included with every Falcon installation

A battery-backed power supply (not optional here), an interior exit button, an emergency break-glass that cuts power to the lock directly, and correctly sized cable to the lock. Voltage drop on thin cable makes a lock hold progressively weaker over time — a fault regularly misdiagnosed as a failing reader.

Integration with your other systems

The same device usually doubles as a time and attendance terminal, and we link it to CCTV so every door opening is recorded alongside the person's image — which turns a row in a report into visual evidence. On larger premises we tie it to the fire alarm so every door releases automatically on alarm.
